What to include
Whatever the tone, guests should be able to answer “who, when, where, what to wear and how to reply” without asking you in the group chat:
- Your names, and your parents’ names if you are inviting on their behalf (common for church weddings).
- The day, date and time of the ceremony, and the reception if it is somewhere else.
- The church or venue with its full address, so the link opens in Google Maps.
- Dress code and motif colors.
- An RSVP deadline and how to reply.
- The entourage and principal sponsors, if you are listing them.
- Optional: a gift note, parking or shuttle details, and whether children are invited.
Formal English wording
Traditional for church weddings. “Request the honour of your presence” is used for a ceremony in a church; “request the pleasure of your company” is the usual phrase for a civil or garden wedding and for the reception.
Spelling out the date and time is the formal convention; numerals are perfectly fine on a digital invitation.
Casual English wording
Tagalog wording
A formal Tagalog invitation reads warmly and is often appreciated by lolos, lolas and older relatives.
Taglish wording
Natural for a barkada-heavy guest list and for invitations shared in group chats.
Entourage and principal sponsors
List the wedding party in the order they walk, or in the usual order below. Use full names with titles for sponsors.
- Parents of the Bride / Parents of the Groom (Mga Magulang ng Ikakasal)
- Principal Sponsors: Ninong on one side and Ninang on the other, as Mr. Ramon Villanueva and Mrs. Teresita Villanueva
- Best Man and Maid of Honor (or Matron of Honor if married)
- Secondary Sponsors: Candle, Veil and Cord sponsors, usually in pairs
- Groomsmen and Bridesmaids
- Bearers: Ring, Coin (Arrhae) and Bible bearers
- Flower Girls
Couples often ask their ninong and ninang in person first, then send the invitation. In The RSVP you pick the roles and type the names; sponsors appear side by side the way they do on printed entourage cards.
RSVP, dress code and gift wording
RSVP
For an adults-only celebration, a gentle line works: “We love your little ones, but our celebration is for adults only.” With an online RSVP, guests reply right on the invitation and you see every response in one list.
Dress code
Monetary gift note
Many couples prefer cash gifts. Keep the note short and gracious, and put the GCash or bank details below it, not in the main invitation text.
Put your wording on an invitation
Paste any of these into the builder and see them on an animated invitation as you type. Every text field accepts Tagalog, Taglish or English. Next, read how to make a digital wedding invitation with RSVP, or browse the templates.
